It was another action-packed weekend for Ghanaian footballers plying their trade around the globe, with several putting in standout performances for their respective clubs.

From England to the United States, the Black Stars’ diaspora made its presence felt, and Footy-Ghana brings you a comprehensive round-up.

England

We begin in the Premier League, where Mohammed Kudus featured for Tottenham Hotspur, playing 78 minutes in Spurs’ commanding 3-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park.

At the Vitality Stadium, Antoine Semenyo put in a solid 90-minute shift for AFC Bournemouth, helping the Cherries claim a 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest and move into second place on the table.

In the Championship, in-form striker Brandon Thomas-Asante continued his hot streak by finding the net once again to guide Coventry City to a comfortable 3-1 home win against Watford. James Abankwah saw red in the encounter, while Kwadwo Baah lasted 64 minutes.

Elsewhere, Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku both started for Leicester City, but the Foxes narrowly lost 1-0 away to Millwall.

Jeffrey Schlupp made a second-half appearance for Norwich City, who earned a 2-1 victory at Swansea City.

In League One, Daniel Kyerewaa, Kelvin Abrefa, and Andy Yiadom all featured in Reading’s 1-1 home draw against Doncaster Rovers, while veteran winger Albert Adomah came off the bench for Walsall in their 1-0 loss at Cheltenham Town.

Further down the divisions, goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott was rock-solid between the sticks as Crawley Town cruised to a dominant 4-0 win over Bristol Rovers.

Ireland

In the League of Ireland, Joseph Anang stood tall in goal for St. Patrick’s Athletic, helping them secure a 1-1 draw against Waterford FC.

Spain

After three games on the bench, Kwasi Sibo finally returned to action for Real Oviedo, playing a key role in their thrilling 3-3 draw with Girona at the Estadi Montilivi.

In La Liga, Inaki Williams missed Athletic Bilbao’s narrow 1-0 defeat to Getafe due to a groin injury.

Thomas Partey came off the bench in the 68th minute to help Villarreal seal a 2-0 win away at Valencia, while Joseph Aidoo completed 90 minutes as Celta Vigo edged Osasuna 3-2 on the road.

Iddrisu Baba Mohammed did not make the Matchday squad for UD Almeria’s 1-0 triumph over Castellon.

Germany

In the Bundesliga, Ernest Poku impressed with an 85-minute outing for Bayer Leverkusen in their 2-0 win over Freiburg.

Ilyas Ansah and Derrick Kohn both featured for Union Berlin, who fell 1-0 to Werder Bremen.

At the Volksparkstadion, Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer featured for 64 minutes in Hamburger SV’s 1-0 home defeat to Wolfsburg.

In Bundesliga II, Benjamin Boakye helped Arminia Bielefeld record a 2-0 win over Elversberg, while Jan Gyamerah remained an unused substitute for the visitors.

Kofi Amoako came on for the final 20 minutes of Dynamo Dresden’s 2-1 home loss to Paderborn 07, and Moritz Kwarteng was introduced late on for VfL Bochum in their 1-1 draw against Holstein Kiel.

Elsewhere, Patric Pfeiffer completed the full 90 for Darmstadt in their 1-0 defeat to Schalke 04, while Maxwell Gyamfi was ever-present as Kaiserslautern drew 1-1 with Nuremberg. Richmond Tachie watched from the bench.

Italy

In Serie A, Caleb Ekuban came off the bench for Genoa in their 2-1 defeat to Torino, while Ibrahim Sulemana was an unused substitute in Bologna’s 2-2 draw with Fiorentina.

Kamaldeen Sulemana also remained on the bench for Atalanta, who were held 1-1 by Cremonese.

France

It was a tough outing for Terry Yegbe, who played the full game as FC Metz were hammered 6-1 by Lille.

Nathaniel Adjei stayed on the bench for Lorient’s 2-0 loss to Angers.

Elisha Owusu, Gideon Mensah, and Ibrahim Osman all featured for AJ Auxerre, though their efforts weren’t enough in a 1-0 defeat to Le Havre.

Kojo Peprah Oppong and Salis Abdul Samed both appeared for OGC Nice, helping them snatch a vital 2-1 win away at Stade Rennais.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Salisu grabbed the headlines by scoring the only goal in AS Monaco’s 1-0 win over Toulouse, featuring fellow Ghanaian Abu Francis.

In Ligue 2, Augustine Boakye and Ebenezer Annan were involved in Saint-Etienne’s disappointing 4-0 loss at FC Annecy.

Netherlands

In the Eredivisie, Jayden Oduro kept goal while Ibrahim Sadiq came on for the last 15 minutes as AZ Alkmaar cruised to a 4-1 win over FC Utrecht.

Kamaldeen Sowah lasted the entire match in NAC Breda’s entertaining 3-3 draw with SC Heerenveen, and Tyrone Owusu played 61 minutes for Telstar in a 1-0 defeat to Sparta Rotterdam.

Turkey

In the Turkish Super Lig, Jerome Opoku was rock-solid in defence as Istanbul Basaksehir thumped Antalyaspor 4-0 away, ending their five-game winless run.

Nicholas Opoku put in a stellar performance for Kasimpasa, who held Besiktas to a 1-1 draw.

Elsewhere, Prince Obeng Ampem featured in Eyupspor’s 2-0 defeat to Trabzonspor, and Aaron Opoku came on for Kayserispor in a 2-2 draw with Fatih Karagümrük.

Belgium

In the Jupiler Pro League, Jerry Afiriyie clocked 72 minutes for Raal La Louvière in their 1-1 draw away at KRC Genk.

Switzerland

In the Swiss Super League, Jonas Adjei Adjetey featured for 60 minutes as FC Basel were humbled 5-1 by Lausanne.

Goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi was unbeatable as St. Gallen dismantled Grasshopper 5-0 at home.\

Sweden

In the Allsvenskan, Rafai Mohammed completed 90 minutes for Värnamo despite their 6-2 thrashing by Djurgården.

Raymond Adjei and Nasiru Moro both featured in Oesters IF’s 2-1 defeat to Degerfors, while Kingsley Gyamfi stayed on the bench.

Rockson Yeboah was solid for IFK Gothenburg, playing the full match as they swept aside Halmstads BK 3-0. For the hosts, Emmanuel Yeboah also saw action.

Norway

In the Eliteserien, Michael Opoku played 57 minutes in Sarpsborg 08’s 2-1 win over KFUM Oslo, while Nana Kwame Boakye made an early appearance to help Brann edge Rosenborg 3-2 away.

Leonard Owusu went the full distance in Fredrikstad’s goalless draw against Sandefjord, and James Ampofo featured off the bench for Stromsgodset, who lost 2-1 to Vålerenga.

Czech Republic

In the Czech topflight, Benjamin Nyarko came on in the 61st minute as Teplice drew goalless with Hradec Kralove.

Prince Adu Kwabena was once again among the goals for Viktoria Plzen, netting in their 2-0 win over Banik Ostrava. Dennis Owusu also featured, while Patrick Kpozo remained unused.

Austria

In Austria’s Bundesliga, Beres Owusu featured throughout Grazer AK’s narrow 1-0 loss at LASK, while Paul Mensah and Eric Ofori Agyemang were unused substitutes for BW Linz and Wolfsberger AC, respectively.

Edmund Baidoo continued his fine form, providing an assist as Red Bull Salzburg breezed past Austria Wien 3-0.

Greece

At the Toumba Stadium, Baba Abdul Rahman made a brief cameo in PAOK FC’s comfortable 3-0 win over Volos NFC.

USA

In the MLS Playoffs, Emmanuel Sabbi shone for Vancouver Whitecaps, playing the entire game in their commanding 3-0 victory over FC Dallas. Lalas Abubakar also featured for the visitors.
