Ghanaian footballers delivered another action-packed weekend across Europe, Asia, and North America, with several players finding the net, others putting in standout performances, and a few enduring difficult outings with their clubs.
Goal rush: who found the net
It was a prolific weekend for Ghanaian attackers, with multiple players getting on the scoresheet across various leagues.
In England, Brandon Thomas-Asante maintained his fine scoring touch, netting as Coventry City cruised to a 3-1 victory over Wrexham A.F.C. in the Championship.

Over in the United States, Morrison Agyemang was on target for Charlotte FC despite their 4-2 defeat to Nashville SC, while Prince Owusu grabbed the winner for CF Montreal in their narrow 1-0 triumph over New York City FC.
Europe also saw its share of Ghanaian goal heroes. Prince Adu struck the decisive goal for Viktoria Plzen in their 1-0 win over Ostrava in the Czech top-flight. In Belgium, Joseph Opoku delivered a commanding performance with a brace to power Waregem to a 4-0 victory over RAA La Louviere.
In Cyprus, defender Derrick Luckassen turned attacker for the day, scoring twice in Pafos’ thrilling 3-3 draw with APOEL.
Sweden’s top division also featured a Ghanaian scorer, with Rockson Yeboah finding the net for IFK Göteborg in their 2-2 stalemate against GAIS.
Meanwhile in Asia, Prince Obeng Ampem was among the goals as Shanghai Port dismantled Wuhan Three Towns 4-0, while Abdul Aziz Yakubu scored in Qingdao West Coast’s 1-1 draw.
England: Championship and League One highlights
Aside from Thomas-Asante’s heroics, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku put in a strong shift, playing 80 minutes for Leicester City in their 1-1 draw with Millwall.

Amankwah Forson made a late cameo for Norwich City in their stalemate with Swansea.
In League One, Kelvin Abrefa featured briefly for Reading, while veteran winger Albert Adomah logged 59 minutes in Walsall’s loss to Harrogate.
Spain: mixed fortunes
In La Liga, Inaki Williams featured for Athletic Bilbao but couldn’t prevent a 3-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid.
The Segunda División saw Oscar Naasei and Granada fall 4-2 to Almeria, while Michael Agbekpornu made a short appearance in Huesca’s win over Zaragoza.

Germany: tough outings and a red card
It was a challenging round in Germany. Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer featured for Hamburg in their 2-1 defeat to Hoffenheim.
In Bundesliga II, Patric Pfeiffer scored in Darmstadt’s dramatic 3-3 draw with Elversberg but endured a bittersweet outing after being sent off.
France: high-scoring encounters
French football delivered drama in abundance. Auxerre’s Ghanaian trio, Gideon Mensah, Marvin Senaya, and Elisha Owusu, were all involved in a narrow 3-2 loss to Lyon.
At Lorient, Nathaniel Adjei suffered misfortune with an own goal in their defeat to Strasbourg. Meanwhile, Terry Yegbe featured in Metz’s remarkable 4-4 draw with Le Havre.
Belgium: Opoku steals the show
Belgium belonged to Joseph Opoku, whose brace led Waregem to a dominant win.
Elsewhere, Lawrence Agyekum and Mohammed Fuseini made substitute appearances for their respective sides.

From Austria to Israel, and from Scandinavia to Asia, Ghanaian players were heavily involved:
Lawrence Ati-Zigi delivered one of the standout individual performances of the weekend, making nine saves for St. Gallen and earning an impressive 9.2 rating in their win over Young Boys.
Abdul Baba Rahman featured for PAOK in Greece.
Yaw Yeboah impressed in China as Qingdao Hainiu secured a 4-1 victory.
In Turkey, Musah Mohammed helped Göztepe to a 2-0 win over Antalyaspor.
In the Netherlands, experienced duo Andre Ayew and Denis Odoi featured for NAC Breda against Ajax.
MLS: busy weekend stateside
Major League Soccer saw widespread Ghanaian participation. Alongside goals from Owusu and Agyemang, Kwaku Agyabeng completed 90 minutes for Sporting Kansas City, while Lalas Abubakar and Manu Duah were also in a full action for their respective clubs.
