Footy-Africa brings you a comprehensive report on how Ghanaian footballers fared across Europe and other leagues over the weekend, highlighting goals, assists, debuts, and key appearances in domestic competitions.

From Belgium to Serbia, England to Denmark, several Black Stars prospects and established internationals left their mark, while others clocked valuable minutes for their respective clubs.

Here’s a full round-up of how Ghana’s legionnaires performed.

Belgium

Afriyie Shines Despite Defeat

Jerry Afriyie continued to justify the hype surrounding his debut season in Belgium, even though RAAL La Louvière fell 2-1 to league leaders Union Saint-Gilloise in the Jupiler Pro League. The young forward remained a lively presence in attack.

Meanwhile, Lawrence Agyekum featured as Cercle Brugge edged Charleroi 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller. Mohammed Fuseini came off the bench for Union SG, logging 31 minutes, while Majeed Ashimeru marked his debut for RAAL La Louvière in the same fixture against Union SG.

England

Osman breaks his duck, Issahaku on the scoresheet

In the English Championship, Ibrahim Osman enjoyed a landmark moment in his loan spell at Birmingham City, netting his first goal for the club in a statement victory over Leicester City.

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku also found the net for Leicester, but his effort proved insufficient as the Foxes fell 2-1. Jordan Ayew made a cameo appearance from the bench for Leicester.

In the Premier League, Antoine Semenyo was involved as Manchester City claimed a 2-1 win away at Liverpool.

Further down the pyramid, Andy Yiadom featured briefly for Reading in their narrow 3-2 defeat to AFC Wimbledon in League One, while veteran winger Albert Adomah came on for Walsall in their 3-1 loss to Barnet in League Two.

Germany

Konigsdörffer keeps scoring

Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer was on target again for Hamburger SV, playing a key role in their 2-1 victory over FC Heidenheim.

Derrick Kohn returned from suspension to feature for Union Berlin in a 1-1 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt.

In Bundesliga II, Patrick Pfeiffer clocked over an hour in Darmstadt’s dominant 4-0 win against Kaiserslautern.

Serbia

Douglas Owusu delivers a masterclass

Douglas Owusu stole the headlines in Serbia with a sensational all-round performance for Red Star Belgrade. The Ghanaian attacker scored his first goal for the club and added an assist in a ruthless 5-0 demolition of Novi Pazar.

Skima Togbe endured a tough outing for the beaten side, while Sadick Abubakar got on the scoresheet for Radnik despite their 3-2 loss to Partizan.

Issah Abass and Ibrahim Mustapha were involved in Radnicki Niš’ 2-1 win over Radnicki 1923, as Kwaku Karikari impressed in Železničar’s 3-0 triumph over Spartak Subotica, a game in which Kwaku Bonsu Osei also featured.

Denmark

Yirenkyi nets winner

Caleb Yirenkyi found the back of the net for FC Nordsjælland in their 2-1 win over SønderjyskE, with Prince Amoako also featuring in the contest.

France

Mixed fortunes for Ghanaian contingent

In Ligue 1, Alidu Seidu featured for Rennes in their 3-1 defeat to Lens, while Nathaniel Adjei played the full match for Lorient in a 2-0 loss to Brest.

Kwame Peprah was involved as Nice held Monaco to a draw, and Gideon Mensah partnered Elisha Owusu for Auxerre in their stalemate with Paris FC.

In Ligue 2, Augustine Boakye contributed to St. Etienne’s slim 1-0 victory over Montpellier, while Edwin Quarshie featured for Le Mans in their 1-1 draw with Laval.

Spain

Williams and Baba deliver

Iñaki Williams completed the full 90 minutes for Athletic Bilbao as they claimed an entertaining 4-2 victory over Levante in La Liga.

In La Liga 2, Iddrisu Baba was ever-present for Almería in their hard-fought 2-1 win over Cádiz.

Italy

Ekuban in late cameo

Caleb Ekuban came off the bench for Genoa, seeing out the closing stages of their dramatic 3-2 defeat to Napoli in Serie A.

Netherlands

Trio in Breda defeat

Ibrahim Sadiq featured late on for AZ Alkmaar in their 1-1 draw with Ajax.

Meanwhile, Denis Odoi, Kamal Sowah, and Andre Ayew all turned out for NAC Breda in their home defeat to Excelsior.

Austria

Atanga on target

David Atanga was among the goals for Wolfsberger AC in a 2-2 draw against Grazer AK, with Emmanuel Agyemang also involved.

Paul Mensah made a short appearance for BW Linz in their 1-0 defeat to Altach.

Bulgaria

Tekpetey turns provider

Benjamin Tetteh registered an assist for Ludogorets in their 3-1 victory over Lokomotiv Sofia, while Carlos Ohene featured briefly for Levski Sofia in their win over Botev Vratsa.

Cyprus

Lomotey and Abagna Feature

Emmanuel Lomotey and Richard Ofori were in action for Ethnikos Achnas in their 2-0 victory over Paralimni.

David Abagna also featured for APOEL in their narrow loss to AEK Larnaca.

Greece & Israel

In Greece, Abdul Baba Rahman was involved for PAOK in their draw against Aris.

In Israel, Emmanuel Boateng helped Hapoel Tel Aviv secure a 2-0 win over Ironi Tiberias, while Hayford Boahen and Eugene Ansah featured in Ashdod’s victory over Hapoel Haifa.

Matthew Cudjoe was on duty for Sakhnin in their defeat to Hapoel Petah Tikva.

Switzerland & Turkey

Lawrence Ati-Zigi was in goal for St. Gallen as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Lausanne.

In Turkey, Jerome Opoku completed the full match for Başakşehir in their 2-1 win over Eyüpspor, with Prince Obeng Ampem turning out for the defeated side.

Across the continent, Ghanaian players delivered goals, assists, and gritty performances, underlining the depth of talent continuing to fly the flag abroad.
