Asante Kotoko FC head coach Abdul-Karim Zito has expressed satisfaction with his team’s steady progress after their goalless draw with Heart of Lions in the Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors were held to a stalemate by the Kpando-based side in their Matchday 4 clash at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, but Zito believes the display marked a step forward from their previous outings.
Heart of Lions had often had the upper hand in recent meetings, yet this time Kotoko showed greater discipline and balance, frustrating their visitors in a tight contest that produced few clear-cut chances.

Speaking to the media after the final whistle, Zito said he was content with the point and encouraged by what he saw from his side.
“I’m okay with a point, it’s better than losing, but there is an improvement,” he remarked. “We are not yet there, but there is an improvement… so it wasn’t bad,” he added, noting that the team would continue to sharpen their attack in search of more goals.
Kotoko will now turn their focus to their outstanding fixture against Bibiani GoldStars, scheduled for Wednesday, October 8, at Dun’s Park, with kick-off set for 19:00 GMT.
