Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven says he is keeping his fingers crossed that Mohammed Kudus will be passed fit in time for Spurs’ high-stakes Premier League showdown with Manchester United this weekend.

Kudus sat out Tottenham’s comprehensive UEFA Champions League win over FC Copenhagen after picking up a knock during last Saturday’s clash with Chelsea. His absence was felt despite Spurs cruising to a 4–0 victory, and his potential unavailability for the trip to Old Trafford has become a growing concern.

With Tottenham looking to maintain momentum following a bright start to the season, after the turbulence of their 2024/25 campaign, Van de Ven believes the Ghanaian’s presence could be crucial in avoiding consecutive league setbacks.

“Mohammed Kudus is an unbelievable player, and we missed him in the game against Copenhagen. Hopefully, he will be fit for us in the weekend against Manchester United. He’s an important player for us, and I don’t know the details of his absence, but hopefully he should be back for us,” Van de Ven told Telecom Asia.

The Dutchman, who stole the spotlight midweek with a stunning solo effort against Copenhagen, is set to feature again on Saturday as Spurs visit Old Trafford.

For now, though, Kudus’ fitness remains uncertain, leaving Tottenham anxiously awaiting updates ahead of one of their biggest fixtures of the early season.
