Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly cooled their long-standing interest in Ghanaian attacker Antoine Semenyo, opting to walk away from a potential January move as the winter transfer window approaches.

The AFC Bournemouth forward is expected to be one of the most sought-after names on the market, with a hefty £65 million release clause set for any club willing to prise him away from the south coast. Spurs were among the sides tracking Semenyo during the summer and were widely tipped to reignite talks ahead of January.

However, reports from England indicate that Tottenham have redirected their recruitment focus, shelving plans to pursue the Black Stars international and prioritising alternative attacking options instead. The decision effectively removes Spurs from what is shaping up to be a competitive transfer race.

Meanwhile, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool are all understood to be lining up potential bids for the 25-year-old, whose stock has risen sharply this season. Semenyo has yet to publicly commit to his next move, but sources suggest he is particularly drawn to a switch to Anfield.

Liverpool’s interest has intensified following recent setbacks in their forward line, with Alexander Isak sidelined through injury and Mohamed Salah currently away on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco with Egypt.

On the pitch, Semenyo has been nothing short of outstanding for Bournemouth. He has played a central role in the Cherries’ Premier League campaign, registering eight goals and three assists in just 16 appearances, form that has firmly placed him among the league’s most in-demand attackers.

As January draws closer, attention now shifts to whether any of Europe’s elite will be prepared to meet Bournemouth’s valuation and make a decisive move for one of the season’s standout performers.
