Ghanaian defender Rockson Yeboah is setting his sights on a defining campaign with IFK Göteborg as the Swedish Allsvenskan side prepares for the 2026-27 season.

After showing flashes of his potential during the previous term, the 21-year-old centre-back believes the upcoming campaign offers the perfect stage to elevate his game and push toward a high-profile move in Europe.

Having previously spent time on loan at AEK Athens, Yeboah now appears fully focused on establishing himself as one of the standout defenders in Sweden’s top division.

Speaking to Göteborgs-Posten, the ambitious youngster did not shy away from outlining his personal objectives:

“This is the time for me to show what I have in me. This is the season that I hope everything goes as I planned.”

Yeboah further revealed that a big transfer remains firmly on his radar, though he acknowledges that the journey ultimately rests beyond his control:

“Yes, that’s the plan. Then only God decides how it will be. I will do my best and see what it gives me and the team.”

During the 2024-25 campaign, the Ghanaian centre-half featured 14 times in all competitions for Göteborg, gaining valuable experience and sharpening his defensive craft. Despite his growing reputation at club level, he is still awaiting his maiden call-up to represent Ghana on the international stage.

Confident and outspoken, Yeboah once boldly described himself as the finest central defender in the Swedish top-flight. Now, with a new season on the horizon, he has the opportunity to turn that confidence into consistency, and potentially place himself among Europe’s most sought-after young defenders.

For IFK Göteborg, affectionately known as Blåvitt, Yeboah’s development could prove pivotal as they aim to mount a strong domestic campaign. For the defender himself, the 2026-27 season may well be the proving ground that shapes the next chapter of his career.
