Pep Guardiola has heaped glowing praise on Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo after the attacker delivered another standout performance in Manchester City’s commanding 3-0 Premier League victory over Fulham on Wednesday night.
The 26-year-old forward continued a blistering run of form that has defined his most productive campaign to date, stamping his authority on the contest with a goal and an assist as City dismantled the West Londoners inside the opening half-hour.
Semenyo broke the deadlock in the 24th minute with a composed finish, before bursting beyond Fulham’s back line minutes later to square for teenage midfielder Nico O’Reilly, who calmly doubled City’s advantage.

Erling Haaland then put the result beyond doubt shortly before the interval, clinically converting to cap a dominant first-half display by the champions.
City’s ruthless opening spell ensured they closed the gap on league leaders Arsenal to just three points, injecting fresh momentum into an increasingly tight Premier League title race.
Speaking after the match, Guardiola reserved special praise for Semenyo’s all-round impact, highlighting the forward’s intensity, awareness in the box and relentless work rate. The City boss underlined how quickly the Ghana international has made himself indispensable since arriving at the Etihad Stadium.
“[Semenyo] has a sense of the second balls in the box but not just that the pace and intensity. He is a top, top player,” said Guardiola after the game.
Antoine Semenyo crowns a record-breaking January transfer window
“The club made a good mark [signing Semenyo] and Antoine is an incredible signing,” he added.
Semenyo’s numbers this season underline his influence, with 13 goals and four assists in 25 Premier League appearances so far, a return that places him among City’s most decisive attacking outlets in the current campaign.
The forward will now be pushing for another start when City turn their attention to FA Cup action this weekend against Salford City, as Guardiola’s side look to maintain momentum on multiple fronts.
