Ghana head coach Otto Addo has shown personal support to forward Mohammed Fuseini, visiting the youngster as he continues his recovery from ankle surgery.

The Royale Union Saint-Gilloise attacker suffered the setback earlier in the campaign, cutting short a bright start to both his club and international season. The timing was particularly cruel, as the 21-year-old had just begun to establish himself with the Black Stars—most notably netting in the Unity Cup clash against Trinidad & Tobago in May.

Fuseini Fires Up USG Future with New Deal to 2028

The injury forced him to miss Ghana’s June World Cup qualifying doubleheader against Chad and Mali. Addo’s men battled to a 1-1 draw away to Chad before edging Mali 1-0 in Accra, results that left fans with mixed feelings.

At club level, Fuseini’s absence has also been felt. He has featured only twice in the Belgian Pro League this term and was unavailable for Union Saint-Gilloise’s historic Champions League debut against PSV Eindhoven. His teammates, however, rose to the occasion, stunning the Dutch giants with a 3-1 victory in Eindhoven.

Fuseini was instrumental last season as Union Saint-Gilloise ended a 90-year wait for the Belgian league title, sealing a fairytale return to the European elite. His injury has therefore been a major blow, though Addo’s visit served as both encouragement and a reminder of his growing importance for club and country.
