Eintracht Frankfurt have received a timely lift ahead of the weekend, with German-Ghanaian winger Ansgar Knauff rejoining full first-team training after a brief spell on the sidelines.
The 24-year-old was forced to sit out the recent league encounter with Union Berlin after coming down with a cold, sparking concerns over Frankfurt’s options out wide.
Fresh training photos from the club this week, however, show Knauff back among the group, sprinting, stretching, and getting back into the rhythm of team drills.
His return couldn’t come at a better moment. With Borussia Mönchengladbach visiting Deutsche Bank Park next, Frankfurt were facing a squeeze for wide players. Knauff’s availability restores a key outlet in transition, a runner who thrives on space, carries the ball at speed, and stretches defensive lines with his movement.

Head coach Albert Riera is now able to pencil the winger back into his plans, regaining a wide option capable of adding bite and urgency to Frankfurt’s attacking phases. With matchday approaching fast, all signs point to Knauff being in contention to feature, should the coaching staff give the green light.
Inside the dressing room and across the fanbase, there’s a shared belief that Knauff brings a different tempo when he’s fit, the kind of player who can tilt the flow of a contest with one burst, one run, one decisive action.
