Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew found the back of the net to help Leicester City earn a 1–1 draw against Middlesbrough, bringing an end to the Foxes’ run of successive defeats in the English Championship.

Ayew, who has faced mounting criticism amid Leicester’s recent struggles, delivered a composed penalty just before half-time to hand his side a slender advantage after an encouraging first-half display at the King Power Stadium. The goal, his second of the campaign, looked set to secure a much-needed victory for the former Premier League champions.

However, heartbreak struck deep into stoppage time as defender Luke Ayling pounced to draw Middlesbrough level, denying Leicester all three points. The result leaves Enzo Maresca’s men winless in three league outings and sliding further down the table, now sitting 13th with 18 points from 14 matches.

Ayew has now registered two goals in 13 league appearances, a modest return but one that could signal a turning point in form.

His compatriot Abdul Fatawu Issahaku also featured prominently, impressing for 85 minutes before being substituted for Stephy Mavididi.
