Ghana’s rising prodigy, Caleb Yirenkyi, has been rewarded for his sizzling form in Denmark after being named in the Danish Superliga Team of the Month for August.
The 19-year-old FC Nordsjaelland midfielder has been a revelation this season, turning in commanding performances that blended grit with flair. In five league outings during August, Yirenkyi not only anchored Nordsjaelland’s midfield with authority but also chipped in offensively, registering a goal and an assist. His consistency has once again placed him among the division’s standout young performers.
His exploits haven’t gone unnoticed. Yirenkyi has also been shortlisted for the Superliga Young Player of the Month award, where he faces stiff competition from fellow Ghanaian youngsters Prince Amoako Jr. and Bismarck Edjeodji.

Joining him in the Team of the Month are AGF’s trio of Tobias Bech, Frederik Beyer Tingager and veteran goalkeeper Jesper Hansen. Copenhagen’s Mohamed Elyounoussi, Midtjylland’s creative duo Dario Osorio and Aral Simsir, OB striker Fiete Arp, Viborg’s Hjalte Bidstrup, plus Gabriel Pareira and Andreas Oggesen also earned selection.
Yirenkyi’s stock continues to rise rapidly. He attracted interest from several European clubs in the just-ended transfer window, though a move never materialized. However, with his trajectory showing no signs of slowing down, the January window could well see him snapped up by one of Europe’s top five leagues.
The teenager’s impact has also stretched beyond club football. During the recent international break, Yirenkyi impressed for Ghana’s Black Stars, delivering commanding performances against Chad and Mali as the West Africans edged closer to sealing a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
