The Ghana Premier League has been thrown into fresh controversy, with five top-flight sides hauled before the disciplinary desk of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over regulatory lapses from Matchday 3 of the 2025/26 season.

Karela United, Dreams FC, Hohoe United, Young Apostles, and Eleven Wonders have all been cited for misconduct after allegedly flouting the league’s operational codes.

At the heart of the issue is Article 38(8)(a) of the league regulations, which requires every club to circulate its Pre-Match Briefing at least 48 hours prior to kick-off. According to the GFA, none of the five clubs met that obligation.

Dreams FC’s situation looks even bleaker, with officials accusing the club of failing to stage a mandatory briefing session for one of their registered players—an omission that could attract stiffer sanctions.

The GFA has issued a strict ultimatum: the clubs must file their official responses by Wednesday, October 1, 2025, or brace for heavier punishment.

While the disciplinary wheels turn, the football fraternity is bracing for what could become one of the season’s earliest flashpoints. Media outlet Kickgh.com reports that the saga is “being monitored closely,” warning fans that the fallout could get messy if tempers flare.

The drama adds yet another twist to an already unpredictable campaign, one that has only just begun.
