NK Aluminij Kidričevo have strengthened their engine room with the acquisition of Ghanaian midfielder Eric Taylor, who arrives on loan from Slovenian heavyweights NK Maribor in a move aimed at sharpening the club’s competitive edge for the decisive months ahead.
The 24-year-old becomes Aluminij’s fourth signing of the winter window, a clear signal of intent as the red-and-whites gear up for a demanding battle to secure top-flight survival while keeping one eye firmly on a potential cup run. Taylor’s arrival injects experience, versatility, and renewed competition into the centre of the park at a critical juncture of the season.
Taylor only linked up with Maribor last summer but brings with him a diverse footballing background. Before his move to Slovenia, he cut his teeth in Norway with Lillestrøm and developed his foundations at Ghana’s New Life FC academy.
Despite his relatively short stint at Maribor, he featured regularly in the first half of the campaign, clocking up 13 appearances in the Prva Liga Telemach, two outings in Europa League qualifiers, and one appearance in the Union Brewery Cup. Across 606 minutes of action, he contributed one goal and three assists, underlining his ability to influence games from midfield.

Now in Kidričevo, Taylor is determined to make his mark and views the loan switch as an ideal platform to fully express his qualities.
“I am very happy that the two clubs agreed on my arrival in Kidričevo. I followed the Aluminij team and they played very well in the autumn part, not least they also won against Maribor in the last round. Now I have to show my maximum in training first, to prove myself to the coach, I believe that I will be able to help the Aluminij team with my character and knowledge on the way to staying in the first league and fighting for the cup trophy,” he told the club media.
Aluminij have welcomed Taylor enthusiastically, inviting him “to the forest” and making no secret of their expectations. With the second half of the season looming, the club will be hoping the Ghanaian midfielder’s energy, experience, and ambition translate into decisive contributions on the pitch.
