Hearts of Oak largely controlled proceedings and created several promising opportunities throughout the game. However, Berekum Chelsea’s defence, marshalled by a commanding performance from Antwi between the posts, stood firm to deny the home side any breakthrough.
The experienced shot-stopper delivered a series of important saves and remained composed under pressure, ensuring his team left Accra with a valuable point at a stage of the season where every result carries significant weight.
His efforts played a key role in keeping Berekum Chelsea competitive during long spells of pressure from the hosts.
Reflecting on the outcome after the final whistle, Antwi acknowledged the challenge of facing Hearts of Oak but admitted the team is pleased with the result away from home.
“The game was very tough. Playing against a compact team like Hearts of Oak is always not easy but at least a draw away is better for us, so we will go back and work towards our next home game,” he said.
The result leaves Berekum Chelsea in 15th place on the Ghana Premier League table with 27 points.
They will now shift focus to their next fixture at the Golden City Park, where they are set to host Young Apostles FC as they aim to build on their solid defensive performance.
