Ghanaian prodigy Edmund Baidoo once again showcased his sharp instincts in front of goal, scoring for Red Bull Salzburg in a pulsating 2-2 home draw with SCR Altach in the Austrian Bundesliga on Sunday.
The 19-year-old forward, who has been steadily cementing his place in Salzburg’s first team, delivered another lively performance capped with a composed finish early in the second half, a moment that briefly seemed to have turned the tide for the reigning champions.

Salzburg’s afternoon, however, began on a sour note when defender Joane Gadou was shown a second yellow card just 22 minutes in, forcing Gerhard Struber’s men to play over an hour with ten men. Altach took advantage of the numerical edge, breaking the deadlock in the 34th minute as Patrick Greil calmly dispatched a penalty to make it 1-0.
Despite being down a man, Salzburg rallied before halftime. Kerim Alajbegovic, the teenage Bosnian midfielder, brought the hosts level in the 41st minute after a clever assist from Karim Onisiwo, igniting the Red Bull Arena crowd.
Baidoo then put Salzburg ahead shortly after the restart, pouncing on a defensive blunder to fire home his second goal of the season, a strike that reflected both his hunger and growing confidence in top-flight football.
Yet, just when Salzburg looked poised to snatch a hard-earned victory, Altach hit back. Malian striker Ousmane Diawara struck in the 80th minute to salvage a point for the visitors and deny the Austrian giants a morale-boosting win.

Baidoo’s latest goal takes his league tally to two goals and one assist in nine appearances, underscoring his rising influence in Struber’s youthful, attack-minded side.
The teenager’s consistency continues to draw attention, with each performance adding weight to his reputation as one of Ghana’s brightest prospects in European football.
