Accra Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has pointed to poor decision-making as the major reason behind his side’s frustrating goalless draw against Aduana FC in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
The Phobians entered the fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium under pressure to claim maximum points in order to keep their slim title ambitions alive. However, despite controlling possession for long periods and carving out a number of promising openings, Hearts failed to find the cutting edge needed to break Aduana’s resilient backline.
The encounter eventually ended in a disappointing 0-0 stalemate, a result that mathematically extinguished Hearts of Oak’s hopes of winning the league title this season.
Speaking after the match, Dramani acknowledged that his players struggled to make the right choices in crucial moments of the game, insisting that improving decision-making remains one of the team’s biggest areas of concern.
“I think that it’s part of the sporting event where you have challenges, and you have learning curves. I believe this is part of the learning, and we will deal with the challenges,” he said. “It is still decision-making. I have said it from day one. I think we need to improve our decision-making.”
The experienced trainer also emphasised the need for self-reflection and development as the campaign approaches its conclusion, urging his players to remain grounded and committed to improving.
“I think what is important in football is that you always need to improve and you need to be humble enough to agree that there is work to be done and you have to grow,” he added.
With the title race now beyond them, Hearts of Oak will shift focus toward ending the season on a positive note while working to address the shortcomings that have hindered their campaign.
