With Ghana set to face Austria in Vienna on March 27 before a high-profile clash against Germany in Stuttgart on March 30, attention has turned to the form of Black Stars players across various leagues.

This past weekend offered a blend of encouraging performances, key contributions, and a few setbacks for the squad selected by head coach Otto Addo.

Goalkeepers

Lawrence Ati-Zigi maintained his starting role for St. Gallen, putting in a steady performance during their 1-1 draw against Sion in the Swiss top flight.

On the domestic front, Benjamin Asare featured between the posts for Accra Hearts of Oak in their goalless encounter with Hearts of Lions.

In Ireland, Joseph Anang stood out with an assured display for St. Patrick’s Athletic, keeping a clean sheet in their 2-0 victory over Waterford. His performance earned him a solid 7.5 rating from FlashScore.

Defenders

Patrick Pfeiffer made a notable impact for SV Darmstadt, contributing an assist in their 1-1 stalemate with Schalke in Germany’s Bundesliga II.

Jerome Opoku was involved for Istanbul Basaksehir in their goalless draw with Antalyaspor. Meanwhile, Caleb Yirenkyi missed FC Nordsjaelland’s fixture against Sonderjyske due to suspension.

Elsewhere, Kojo Oppong Peprah remained on the bench as OGC Nice fell 4-0 to PSG, and Jonas Adjetey was left out of Wolfsburg’s squad in their 2-1 loss to Werder Bremen. Marvin Senaya was also an unused substitute in Auxerre’s convincing 3-0 win over Brest.

Alexander Djiku delivered a full-match performance for Spartak Moscow, helping his side secure a 2-0 victory against Orenburg.

Gideon Mensah added to Auxerre’s dominance with an assist in their win over Brest.

Midfielders

Thomas Partey made a late cameo for Villarreal in their impressive 3-1 triumph over Real Sociedad.

Elisha Owusu completed the full 90 minutes for Auxerre in their commanding win, while Ibrahim Sulemana also played the entire match despite Cagliari’s narrow defeat to Napoli.

Kwasi Sibo featured for 70 minutes in Real Oviedo’s 4-2 loss to Levante, showing glimpses of influence despite the result.

Brandon Thomas-Asante continued his fine scoring form, netting his 12th goal of the season as Coventry City cruised to a 3-0 win over Swansea City.
