Red Bull Salzburg’s rising star Edmund Baidoo delivered yet another standout performance in the Austrian Bundesliga, capping the afternoon with a superb finish that sealed a 2-0 away triumph over Blau-Weiß Linz.
The 19-year-old forward, who has rapidly become one of Salzburg’s most influential young attackers, produced a moment of individual brilliance in the 70th minute, an instinctive, audacious effort that put the contest out of reach and underscored his red-hot form this season.
Salzburg had taken control early on, with Petar Ratkov finding the opener in the 19th minute after sustained pressure from the visitors. BW Linz, however, thought they had a way back into the game shortly after half-time, only for VAR to overturn a penalty awarded in the 52nd minute. The hosts’ frustration deepened moments later when Salzburg were also denied a spot kick following another review.

With tension rising and the match hanging in the balance, Baidoo stepped up decisively. His strike, cool, composed, and hit with intent, carried all the confidence of a player enjoying an exceptional breakthrough campaign.
The goal marked Baidoo’s fifth of the league season, adding to his four assists across 15 matches, bringing his total goal contributions to nine. His consistency and maturity at such a young age have reportedly drawn attention from several English clubs ahead of the winter transfer window, further elevating his growing profile in Europe.
