Asante Kotoko have received a significant lift in their squad management plans after three key players, Ablorh, Samba, and Peter Anidu, pledged not to walk away as free agents, a development that safeguards the club’s financial interests ahead of the next transfer window.
The assurance, confirmed by the club’s Communications Director, Sarfo Duku, means Kotoko stand to benefit should any of the trio seal moves elsewhere.
“Per our last meeting with them, Ablorh, Samba, and Peter Amidu have in principle resolved not to leave as free agents, allowing Kotoko to benefit from their move. When an agreement is finally reached, the club won’t impede their moves, given that both parties would benefit,” Duku revealed.
He further noted that talks with other players remain ongoing.
“The club has yet to meet with Camara and Ansu though,” he added, signalling that negotiations over additional departures or renewals are still in the pipeline.

The commitment from the trio arrives at a time when interest in Kotoko’s top performers continues to rise, with several clubs, both domestic and abroad, monitoring their situations ahead of the January window. By avoiding a free-transfer scenario, Kotoko protects its assets while allowing the players to pursue opportunities that may elevate their careers.
On the pitch, the Porcupine Warriors, still the only unbeaten side in the current Ghana Premier League season, shift focus to Wednesday’s outstanding fixture against Basake Holy Stars in Aiyinase, as they aim to extend their formidable run.
