Asante Kotoko have formally cautioned Libyan heavyweights Al Ahly Benghazi after growing frustrated with the club’s delay in settling the transfer fee for striker Albert Amoah.
Amoah, who earned a move abroad following his explosive performances for the Porcupine Warriors, is already making an impression in Libya. But despite his smooth transition on the pitch, the financial side of the deal has reportedly hit a snag.
According to 3SPORTS, Al Ahly Benghazi have not yet fulfilled their financial obligations, sparking unease within the Kotoko camp. The Ghanaian club has now drawn a firm line, giving their Libyan counterparts a strict deadline to deliver the agreed sum.

Sources within Kotoko’s leadership insist the club will not hesitate to activate formal procedures if the situation persists.
“The club expects Al Ahly Benghazi to honour their financial obligations regarding Albert Amoah’s transfer. If the payment is not made within the stipulated period, we will have no choice but to escalate the matter to CAF and FIFA to ensure the club’s rights are protected.” Sources close to Kotoko told 3SPORTS.
The stand-off has quickly become a talking point among Ghana football fans, especially given Amoah’s pivotal role during his time in Kumasi. The former Great Olympics forward was a revelation for Kotoko last season, delivering 16 goals in 30 Ghana Premier League outings and emerging as their most lethal attacking presence.
Amoah also carried his form into continental competition, notching two goals in four matches in the CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers before Kotoko bowed out.

With the player already contributing in Libya while Kotoko await their financial compensation, the Kumasi giants are prepared to escalate the matter to CAF or FIFA if Al Ahly Benghazi fail to meet the newly communicated deadline.
