Ghana’s all-time top scorer, Asamoah Gyan, has reportedly stepped into a mentorship role for Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo, helping the AFC Bournemouth striker refine his craft and fulfil his growing potential.

Per The Sun, Gyan has been quietly guiding Semenyo over the past six months, an arrangement that involves detailed match analysis, tactical feedback, and motivational support. The partnership, sources say, has blossomed into a strong mentor–protégé bond, with Gyan serving as both an advisor and a big-brother figure to the in-form Premier League star.

Their collaboration is said to extend beyond virtual exchanges. The two regularly meet in person whenever Semenyo links up with the Ghana national team, using those sessions to dissect performances and discuss ways to elevate his game further.

Gyan, whose own Premier League experience includes a successful stint with Sunderland, where he netted 10 goals in 34 appearances before a big move to Al Ain in the UAE, is believed to be drawing from his wealth of top-level experience to keep Semenyo grounded, focused, and mentally sharp.

The 25-year-old Semenyo has been electric for Bournemouth this season, registering six goals and three assists in just nine league appearances. His form has drawn widespread praise, with many close to the Black Stars crediting Gyan’s influence for helping the forward mature both on and off the pitch.

Insiders suggest that this mentorship could prove pivotal not only for Semenyo’s club performances, but also for Ghana’s attacking fortunes heading into future international campaigns.
