Hearts of Oak defender Ali Mohammed has reflected on the club’s recent setback and outlined the mindset heading into their next fixture.
Speaking after the Phobians’ narrow 1-0 loss to arch-rivals Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium, Ali admitted the outcome fell far short of their expectations.
“The last game didn’t go the way we hoped. What we anticipated didn’t materialise, and it was disappointing for all of us,” he told Hearts TV.
Hearts coach Didi Dramani insists Super Clash defeat was harsh
However, he revealed that the squad has since shifted focus, using the defeat as a learning curve. According to him, the team’s preparations this week have centred on tightening loose ends and adopting fresh tactical ideas for their upcoming challenge.
“This week in training, we’ve worked on correcting every mistake from the previous match. We’ve also picked up new tactical approaches because this weekend presents a different kind of game, and we need a different plan,” he explained.
Hearts of Oak will be looking to bounce back on Saturday when they travel to the Swedru Sports Stadium to take on Swedru All Blacks.
