Ghana goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has issued a rallying call to supporters after a difficult outing at the Kirin Cup, insisting the Black Stars remain united and focused despite consecutive defeats.

Ghana endured a frustrating international window, falling 2–0 to Japan before a narrow 1–0 loss to South Korea. The setbacks have intensified scrutiny around the team’s readiness for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, set for North America next summer.

But Asare, who sat out the Japan fixture before delivering an eye-catching performance against South Korea, says the spirit within the camp is unshaken. The Hearts of Oak No.1 reminded fans that the Black Stars’ resilience is built on togetherness, sharing a brief but powerful message online:

“We stand together in victory and defeat. The support means everything. Thank you, Ghana!”

The keeper, who joined the squad late in Asia, was one of Ghana’s brightest performers in the final game, notably stopping a penalty to keep the scoreline respectable. His domestic form has also been stellar: just three goals conceded in eight league matches and a recent honour as SWAG Player of the Year.

As anticipation grows, Ghana will soon learn their World Cup group-stage opponents when the draw is conducted on December 5, 2025, in Washington, DC, an event that could define the team’s path to redemption.
