Ghanaian striker Brandon Thomas-Asante was on target once again as Coventry City eased past Watford with a 3-1 win in the English Championship on Saturday.
The in-form forward wasted no time announcing himself at the Coventry Building Society Arena, breaking the deadlock just three minutes after kick-off. Rising highest in the box, Thomas-Asante met Tatsuhiro Sakamoto’s teasing delivery with a precise header that left the Watford goalkeeper stranded.

Coventry’s early momentum showed no signs of slowing as Jamie Allen doubled the advantage barely four minutes later, putting the hosts firmly in control. Sakamoto, already provider for the opener, then turned scorer to make it 3-0 before half-time, capping off a ruthless first-half display from the Sky Blues.
Watford’s evening took a further hit when Ghanaian defender James Abankwah was sent off in the 44th minute after a reckless challenge, reducing the visitors to ten men.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, Imran Louza managed to pull one back for the Hornets from the penalty spot shortly after the restart, but it proved only a consolation as Coventry comfortably saw out the game.
