Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has hailed the resilience and growing belief within his squad after the Mauve and Yellow stretched their unbeaten streak to 12 matches in the 2025–26 Ghana Premier League.

Sitting second on the standings with 30 points from 15 outings, Medeama are locked level on points with leaders Asante Kotoko and separated only by goal difference, firmly positioning themselves as genuine title contenders as the season gathers momentum.

Attention now shifts to Wednesday’s rescheduled Matchday 14 showdown away to Bibiani Gold Stars, a daunting assignment against a side yet to drop a point on home soil this campaign.

Medeama approach the fixture on the back of a gritty 1-0 victory over Heart of Lions in Kpando, a result Tanko believes underlined his team’s maturity and competitive edge in an increasingly unforgiving league.

The former Accra Lions coach pointed to the confidence and unity in his dressing room, insisting that collective effort and discipline remain the foundation of their impressive run, especially in hostile environments.

“The feeling is good, going 12 games unbeaten in the Premier League with all these good clubs. I think we did very well here. Going to Kpando, we had the confidence to go and grab all three points,” he told the press.

“I think we played as a team. I have always said that when we play as a team, we can face any side, home or away.”

While the unbeaten sequence has been eye-catching, six of those 12 matches have ended in draws, highlighting just how tight the margins are among the league’s frontrunners.

That context makes the trip to Bibiani even more significant. Gold Stars’ flawless home record sets the stage for a stern examination of Medeama’s title credentials, one that could further define their season and test the limits of Tanko’s increasingly battle-hardened side.
