Ghana international Salis Abdul Samed is on the verge of completing a move from RC Lens to OGC Nice, with medicals scheduled for Thursday, according to multiple reports and renowned journalist, Fabrice Hawkins.

The 25-year-old midfielder, fresh off a loan spell at Sunderland, is set to join the Ligue 1 side on a three-year contract in a deal that will see him leave Lens after two seasons. Nice have moved quickly to secure his services in a deal worth €2.5 million.

Abdul Samed played a key role in Sunderland’s promotion to the Premier League last season, despite battling injuries, including a psoas muscle problem, that hindered his rhythm in the EFL Championship. Known for his grit, tireless work rate, and ball-winning abilities, he made 72 appearances for Lens since joining in 2022.

At Nice, the Ghanaian midfielder will reunite with his former coach, Franck Haise, with whom he worked at Lens previously, with the hope of a French League One career renaissance.

Meanwhile, at the international stage, Abdul Samed has 21 caps for the Ghanaian senior national team, The Black Stars, and remains a key figure in their midfield plans.
