Ghanaian defender Rockson Yeboah delivered another commanding display as IFK Goteborg claimed a 2-1 comeback victory over Brommapojkarna in the Swedish Allsvenskan, playing a decisive role at both ends of the pitch.
The centre-back broke the deadlock shortly after the restart, powering home a towering header from Tobias Heintz’s pinpoint corner in the 54th minute to hand the hosts a deserved advantage.
Beyond his goal, Yeboah was immense in defence. He finished the contest with a game-leading 13 defensive actions, consistently snuffing out attacks with crucial clearances, strong aerial dominance and well-timed interventions that frustrated Brommapojkarna throughout the afternoon.
The visitors responded against the run of play when Oliver Berg finished clinically on a swift counterattack to level the scores, threatening to deny IFK all three points.
However, the hosts maintained their attacking momentum and were rewarded late in the encounter. Following another dangerous corner situation, sustained pressure inside the penalty area ended with Sebastian Clemmensen firing home from close range to restore IFK Goteborg’s lead and secure a valuable league victory at Gamla Ullevi.
Yeboah’s latest performance adds to what has been an increasingly impressive campaign in Sweden. The Ghanaian has now featured 12 times in the 2026 Allsvenskan season, contributing two goals and one assist while establishing himself as one of IFK Goteborg’s most influential performers.
Attention now shifts to European competition, with IFK Goteborg preparing for a UEFA Conference League qualifying clash against FCI Levadia on July 21. Given his current form, Yeboah is expected to play another pivotal role as the Swedish side begins its continental campaign.
