Antoine Semenyo completed the full 90 minutes for Manchester City in the FA Community Shield, but the Ghana international endured a disappointing afternoon as Arsenal cruised to a 3-0 victory.

Joseph Opoku, however, enjoyed a memorable Championship debut weekend, finding the net as Swansea City recovered from an early setback to defeat Stoke City 2-1 at the bet365 Stadium.

Kwame Poku featured for 58 minutes as Queens Park Rangers produced an impressive 3-1 victory over Portsmouth.

Saudi Arabia

Bernard Mensah was directly involved in both of Al-Riyadh’s goals, scoring once and supplying an assist, although his individual contribution could not prevent a 4-2 defeat to Al-Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League.

Dutch-Ghanaian forward Emanuel Poku was on target for Almere City FC, helping his side secure a convincing 3-1 triumph over Jong PSV Eindhoven in the Eerste Divisie.

Norway

Ghana U-20 international Foster Apetorgbor delivered one of the weekend’s standout moments. Coming off the bench, the forward struck a stunning late winner to propel Sandefjord to a 2-1 victory over Sarpsborg 08 in the Norwegian Eliteserien.

China

Frank Acheampong opened the scoring for Dalian Yingbo FC, but his early breakthrough ultimately counted for little as Yunnan Yukun fought back to claim a 3-1 victory in the Chinese Super League.

Quarshie and Sadick Abubakar were both involved as Radnik Surdulica recorded a 2-1 victory over Maฤva.

Belgium

Ghanaian players were also prominent across Major League Soccer, with several featuring prominently for their respective clubs.

Joseph Paintsil played the full match for Los Angeles Galaxy but could not prevent a 1-0 defeat to Houston Dynamo.

Kwaku Agyabeng was introduced for 38 minutes as Sporting Kansas City fell 2-0 to Colorado Rapids.

Maxwell Woledzi and Shak Mohammed were both involved as Nashville SC produced one of the weekend’s biggest MLS results, dismantling Inter Miami 4-1.

Manu Duah also completed the full 90 minutes for San Diego, helping his side secure a narrow 1-0 victory over Los Angeles FC.

From match-winning strikes in Norway and Israel to goals and assists in Saudi Arabia, China, the Netherlands and MLS, Ghanaian players once again left their fingerprints across the global football landscape, underlining the growing reach and influence of Ghanaian talent abroad.
