Portuguese side Portimonense SC have bolstered their attacking options with the capture of Ghanaian forward Mohammed Dauda on a two-year deal.

The 27-year-old, once tipped as one of Ghana’s brightest U20 prospects, makes the switch after parting ways with Spanish outfit CD Tenerife at the close of the summer window. Dauda is no stranger to European football, having previously turned out for Belgian giants Anderlecht before stints in Spain with Tenerife and Ibiza.

In a statement published on their official channels, Portimonense confirmed: “Ghanaian striker Mohammed Dauda, 27, has joined on a permanent basis, signing a contract until 2027. Last season, while on loan at UD Ibiza, he featured in 20 matches and netted six goals.”

The Ghanaian arrives as a direct replacement for Colombian forward Camilo Durán, who sealed a move to Azerbaijan’s Qarabag earlier in the window.

While Dauda is yet to make the leap to Ghana’s senior national team, he has represented the West African nation at both U20 and U23 levels. His arrival is expected to inject much-needed pace and power into Portimonense’s front line as the club plots its return to top-flight football.
