The Ghana Football Association has dismissed head coach Otto Addo following a run of poor results in recent international friendlies.

Ghana were beaten 2-1 by Germany in Stuttgart, days after a heavy 5-1 loss to Austria, prompting concerns over the team’s form ahead of upcoming competitions.

In a statement, the GFA confirmed Addo’s departure with immediate effect and thanked him for his contribution during his time in charge.

Addo, who had been tasked with rebuilding the Black Stars, leaves with the team struggling for consistency, particularly against European opposition during the latest international window.

The decision follows discussions between football officials and government representatives, with Ghana now looking to appoint a new head coach as part of a broader reset.

With preparations ongoing for the next FIFA World Cup, the Black Stars are due to face Mexico and Wales in upcoming friendlies, fixtures likely to be overseen by an interim coaching staff.

The GFA says further details on a replacement and long-term plans for the national team will be announced in due course.
