Ghana head coach Otto Addo has heaped praise on in-form playmaker Mohammed Kudus, whose blistering performances in England have given the Black Stars a huge boost ahead of their decisive World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana enter the final phase of their qualification campaign with two must-win encounters, first against the Central African Republic on Wednesday, followed by a home tie with the Comoros on Sunday, October 12. Victory in both fixtures would confirm the Black Stars’ ticket to the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Kudus, now dazzling in Tottenham Hotspur colours after a summer move from West Ham United, has hit peak form at just the right moment. The 25-year-old has quickly become a fan favourite at Spurs, bagging a goal and an assist in their 2-1 win over Leeds United at Elland Road before the international break. That performance took his Premier League tally to five goal involvements in seven appearances, a return that has not gone unnoticed by the national team boss.
“Surely, if somebody scores, I’m happy for everybody who scores. But he did well. He created a lot of chances for Tottenham. He had some assists as well,” Addo said during his pre-match press conference in Kumasi.

Addo believes Kudus’ confidence and creativity will be crucial as Ghana look to seal qualification on home soil. The former Ajax man is expected to play a starring role when the Black Stars host the Central African Republic, with fans eager to see his club form translate into another commanding display in national colours.
With qualification within touching distance, Ghana will rely on Kudus and the rest of Addo’s talented squad to deliver when it matters most.
