Ghana head coach Otto Addo believes there is still more to come from goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, whose assured displays were crucial in the Black Stars’ successful qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Hearts of Oak shot-stopper, who only made his international debut against Chad in March, has since cemented his spot as Ghana’s No.1. Over the course of six qualifier appearances, Asare impressed with his consistency and command, keeping five clean sheets in the process.

Reflecting on the 33-year-old’s progress, Addo told 3Sports that while Asare has been outstanding, he has not yet reached his full potential.

“He’s really good. I think his strength is definitely on the line. Short blocking and on the line. There’s still room to improve, but I think he’s growing from game to game,” the 49-year-old tactician remarked.

With the World Cup set to take place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, Asare is widely expected to retain his starting role when Ghana takes to the global stage next summer.
