Rising midfield prodigy Noah Nartey has been crowned the Young Talent of the Month for February in Ligue 1 after an eye-catching start to life with Olympique Lyonnais.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder, who joined the French giants from Brøndby IF during the January transfer window, has wasted little time making his mark at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais.
Nartey’s energetic displays and creative spark in the middle of the park have quickly endeared him to supporters and observers alike, with the youngster already delivering decisive contributions early in his Ligue 1 adventure.
His impressive performances saw him emerge victorious ahead of fellow nominees Mahamadou Nagiba of Stade Rennais FC and Kevin Danois from AJ Auxerre to secure the coveted monthly honour.
Since arriving in France, the highly rated midfielder has already featured seven times for Lyon in the ongoing 2025/26 campaign, registering two goals and one assist while showcasing his attacking instincts and technical quality.
Nartey’s rapid rise has also caught the attention of the Ghana national football team setup ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. However, the youngster has indicated that his international future currently lies with Denmark.
Speaking to the Danish outlet TIPSBLADET, he addressed the speculation surrounding his nationality choice:
“Of course there is something with Ghana, and there has also been contact. But what I am focused on is playing for Denmark and qualifying for a very important and great European Championship.”
He further emphasised his long-standing connection with Denmark’s national setup:
“It is Denmark that I have represented my entire life, and it is them that I will continue to represent.”
