Ghanaian attacker Naeem Mohammed has completed a move to South Korean outfit Chungnam Asan FC after bringing his three-year spell with Halmstads BK to an end.

The 29-year-old forward was introduced by the K League 2 side on Tuesday, marking the start of a fresh challenge in Asia following the conclusion of his contract in Sweden at the end of the 2025 season.

Mohammed departs Halmstads after a steady run with the Halland-based club, where he featured prominently across three campaigns. During that period, the Ghanaian made 73 appearances in all competitions, finding the net 19 times while also registering six assists.

After finalising the switch, Mohammed expressed his enthusiasm about joining his new team and outlined his ambition to quickly establish himself within the squad.

“I am very happy to have signed for Chungnam Asan FC. I want to get into the team as quickly as possible and show good performances in front of the fans,” he said. “I will become a player who contributes to the team’s victories by scoring many goals.”

Born in 1996, Mohammed has built a reputation as a dynamic forward who thrives on speed and intelligent movement around opposing defences. His attacking versatility allows him to operate either through the middle as a traditional striker or from wide areas where he can stretch backlines.

Before his stint with Halmstads, Mohammed enjoyed a prolific spell in Swedish football after arriving in the country in 2019. His most memorable campaign came in 2022 while representing Sandvikens IF, when he delivered a remarkable return of 23 goals in just 27 matches to claim the league’s golden boot.

At Chungnam Asan, the Ghanaian forward is expected to slot into the system of head coach Im Kwan-sik, whose tactical approach prioritises pace, quick transitions and aggressive attacking play in the final third.

Chungnam Asan compete in South Korea’s second-tier K League 2 and will be aiming to build momentum in the ongoing campaign. Mohammed could soon be in line for his debut when the club take on Daegu FC in their Round 3 encounter scheduled for March 15 at the Yisun-sin Comprehensive Sports Ground.

With his arrival, Chungnam Asan will be hoping the Ghanaian striker’s goal-scoring instincts provide the extra cutting edge needed to strengthen their push this season.
