PSV Eindhoven are set to welcome back one of Dutch football’s once-brightest striking prospects, with Myron Boadu poised to complete a move from AS Monaco.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed on Thursday that an agreement has been struck between the Eredivisie giants and the French side, paving the way for the 24-year-old to undergo his medical examinations on Friday.

Boadu, who rose to prominence as a prolific teenager at AZ Alkmaar, left for Monaco in 2021 amid high expectations. However, his three years in France never lived up to the billing, as injuries and patchy form prevented him from securing a consistent role in the Principality.

The Dutch-Ghanaian forward spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan with Bundesliga side VfL Bochum, where he finally offered glimpses of his old self and reminded suitors of his attacking instincts. That resurgence has now earned him a lifeline back in the Netherlands.

A return to the Eredivisie with PSV presents an opportunity for Boadu to reset his career and re-establish himself as one of Europe’s dangerous young forwards. Eindhoven’s attacking system, coupled with Champions League ambitions, could provide the perfect platform for the striker to rediscover the ruthless edge that made him one of the most talked-about prospects of his generation.
