FC Koln boss Lukas Kwasniok looks set to hand German with Ghanaian descent, Ragnar Ache a major role this weekend when the Billy Goats welcome Hamburger SV to the RheinEnergieStadion.

The 27-year-old forward, who opened his account for Koln in the midweek DFB-Pokal clash with Bayern Munich, impressed with his relentless energy and physical presence. His first goal in club colours offered a glimpse of the dynamism he could bring to Koln’s Bundesliga campaign.

Kwasniok was full of admiration for the striker’s display, hinting strongly that Ache will start on Sunday.

“The odds are high he starts because he simply did a fantastic job and brings a different component into the game,” he remarked.

The coach singled out Ache’s aerial dominance and selfless work rate as crucial assets.

“He won almost every header, worked extremely hard, and made us dangerous on set pieces,” Kwasniok added.

While the coach cautioned that Ache might not yet be ready for a full 90-minute shift, he believes the striker’s influence could be decisive.

“He certainly has 45 minutes in his tank,” Kwasniok admitted.

Koln supporters, still buzzing from Ache’s breakthrough in the cup, are eager to see whether his spark can ignite a strong run in the league.
