Ghana midfielder Kwasi Sibo has thrown his full support behind Otto Addo, insisting the coach should remain in charge of the Black Stars for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Despite successfully guiding Ghana to qualify for the global tournament, Addo’s long-term future with the national team continues to spark debate among fans and pundits, with critics pointing to the side’s mixed performances during the qualifying campaign.

But Sibo, who has quickly become a dependable figure in Addo’s setup, believes the coach’s methods and leadership have been instrumental in Ghana’s resurgence.

“Personally, I feel he has done a great job, and he is still doing a great job for the national team. Since I came to the national team, whatever tactics he has given to us, whatever instructions he gives before a game, when we deliver, we get the results,” Sibo told Joy Sports.

“My personal experience has been great, and I think he is a good guy to lead the nation to the World Cup,” the Real Oviedo midfielder added.

Since earning his first call-up, Sibo has started all three of Ghana’s recent matches, helping the Black Stars seal top spot in their qualification group and book a place at the tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Otto Addo sets sights on breaking Group stage barrier at 2026 World Cup

With qualification secured, Addo’s men will now shift focus to preparations, beginning with high-profile friendlies against Japan and South Korea next month. The Black Stars will learn their World Cup group-stage opponents on December 5, as anticipation continues to build for their return to football’s grandest stage.
