KuPS Sporting Director applauds capture of Ghana defender Kasim Adams

Finnish top-flight outfit KuPS have bolstered their backline with the acquisition of Ghanaian centre-back Kasim Adams, a move the club’s sporting director Sixten Bostrom believes will significantly enhance the team ahead of the new campaign.

Adams has penned a two-year deal with the Veikkausliiga side, joining on a free transfer after gaining experience across multiple European leagues during his professional career.

Bostrom expressed strong confidence in the defender’s ability to fit seamlessly into KuPS’ playing philosophy, particularly highlighting his composure and technical quality when building from the back.

“Kasim is a very suitable stopper for us in terms of ball possession. He can open the game with quality, both with short and longer passes,” Bostrom said.

Beyond his distribution, the KuPS chief pointed to Adams’ commanding physical presence and aerial dominance as key attributes that will add solidity to the team’s defensive unit:

“In addition, he brings physicality and strong heading ability to our defence in both penalty areas.”

The sporting director also stressed that Adams’ experience at the professional level will be invaluable to the squad, particularly in guiding younger players and reinforcing the team’s defensive organisation.

“As an experienced player, he also brings leadership and confidence to our defensive line,” Bostrom added.

KuPS will be counting on the Ghana international to make an immediate impact as the club prepares for the upcoming season, where they aim to mount a strong challenge in domestic competitions while also making their mark in Europe.
