Mohammed Kudus finally announced himself in Tottenham colours with a sparkling display that powered Spurs to a 2-1 win over Leeds United at a charged Elland Road on Saturday evening.
The Ghanaian attacker, who made a big-money switch from West Ham for £55 million in the summer, struck his first Premier League goal for the North London side to seal all three points and stretch their unbeaten start to seven matches.
Tottenham looked sharp from the off and took a deserved lead through Mathys Tel, whose speculative drive took a wicked deflection to wrong-foot Illan Meslier. Leeds, backed by a noisy home crowd, grew into the contest after the break, but Kudus soon put the game beyond their reach with a moment of class.

After capitalising on a defensive lapse from Gabriel Gudmundsson, the 23-year-old weaved past two defenders along the edge of the box before firing a low effort that clipped Pascal Struijk and rolled inside the far post. The deflection may have helped, but the confidence and precision in the buildup were pure Kudus.
Leeds mounted late pressure, with Joel Piroe forcing a sharp save from Guglielmo Vicario, yet Spurs held firm to preserve their unbeaten record and climb to second place in the table.
For Kudus, it was a performance that justified every penny of his hefty transfer fee, full of drive, creativity, and end product.
His first goal, added to four assists already this season, cements his growing reputation as one of the Premier League’s brightest new stars.

Thomas Frank, whose side continue to defy early-season expectations, will take heart from yet another composed display, and from a new hero in white beginning to find his rhythm.
