Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has thrown his weight behind striker Albert Amoah, insisting the forward’s recent form makes him worthy of a national team invitation.
Since joining the Porcupine Warriors from Great Olympics, Amoah has steadily evolved into one of Kotoko’s most reliable attacking outlets. His stock rose further after his two goals in the dramatic first-leg win over Kwara United in the CAF Confederation Cup, where Kotoko edged a seven-goal thriller 4-3 in Accra. That result, followed by a hard-fought 1-0 victory in Ilorin, booked the Ghanaian giants a place in the next round with a 5-3 aggregate triumph.

Zito believes those performances have put the 25-year-old firmly on the Black Stars’ radar.
“Albert Amoah has proven that he deserves a place in the Black Stars. He delivered an outstanding performance in front of the coaches, the GFA President, and his Executive Council. If he earns a call-up, there will be little room for objection,” Zito said.
The coach also emphasized Amoah’s influence beyond goals, particularly in the second leg against Kwara United.
“The importance of goal-scoring in every club is very high. Even though he did not score in Nigeria, he was unsettling defenders and creating chances for his teammates,” he noted.
With Kotoko set to host Hohoe United in Kumasi this weekend on Matchday 4 of the Ghana Premier League, Amoah will be eager to extend his fine run and reinforce his claim for a national team breakthrough.
