Ghanaian defender Kadiri Mohammed has sealed a switch to Azerbaijani I Liga outfit Asta Mingachevir ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
The former Ashantigold centre-back, now 29, makes a familiar return to Azerbaijan after a brief spell in India with Mohammedan SC. His new adventure in Mingachevir reunites him with a league he already knows well, having previously turned out for Araz Nakhchivan in the 2023/24 season.
Kadiri’s career has been defined by a wealth of experience across Europe and Asia. He first rose to prominence in Ghana before building his reputation abroad with stints in Russia, Ukraine, Austria, Hungary, and Azerbaijan. His résumé includes spells at Arsenal Tula, Dynamo Kyiv, Austria Vienna, Chornomorets Odesa, and Budapest Honvéd.
While in Ukraine, he lifted both the Ukrainian Cup and the Ukrainian Super Cup with Dynamo Kyiv, cementing his status as a reliable defensive presence.
For Asta Mingachevir, Kadiri’s arrival represents more than just a signing; it’s the addition of a battle-hardened professional whose leadership and know-how will be key as the club aims to establish itself in the new season.
