Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Glenn Hoddle has backed Ghanaian international Mohammed Kudus to become a major asset for the club, if he can master the art of keeping his head up while dribbling.
The Ghanaian forward, who joined Spurs from West Ham this summer in a €63.8 million deal, made a lively impression during Wednesday’s UEFA Spurs Super Cup clash with Paris Saint-Germain at the Bluenergy Stadium.
Kudus was a constant menace to the PSG defense until he was withdrawn in the 79th minute. He ended the match with the highest number of chances created (3) and the most completed dribbles (2). Despite Tottenham racing into a 2-0 lead, PSG fought back to force penalties, eventually winning 4-3 in the shootout to lift the trophy.

Speaking on TNT Sports, Hoddle praised Kudus’s flair and speed but urged him to refine his game.
“He’s got such good talent, such quick feet, you can see his qualities. The extra ingredient he needs is consistency,” Hoddle noted.
“Some West Ham fans have told me, ‘Thanks for taking him, Glenn.’ I’m not so sure about that. I thought he was excellent in his first year there; the second year, not so much. But the potential is clear. For me, the key is whether a dribbler can play with their head up. That’s his next step. If he manages that, he’ll be a real asset for Tottenham,” he added.
Kudus is set to be involved in Tottenham’s 2025/26 Premier League season opener against Burnley this weekend on Saturday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
