Ghanaian international and winger Joseph Paintsil found the net for LA Galaxy, but it wasn’t enough to stop a 3-1 defeat to Inter Miami in Saturday night’s Major League Soccer clash.
The 27-year-old attacker led from the front and played the full 90 minutes, standing out with his direct runs and energy. His moment came in the 59th minute when he danced past the Miami backline and buried a low strike beyond the goalkeeper to level the score.

However, Paintsil’s equaliser proved only temporary relief for the Galaxy. Inter Miami, who had taken the lead through ex-Barcelona full-back Jordi Alba in the first half, showed their star power late on. Lionel Messi restored the advantage in the 84th minute, before his long-time strike partner Luis Suárez wrapped up the points five minutes later.
The result leaves Galaxy still searching for consistency in a tricky stretch of their MLS campaign. Paintsil and his teammates will be aiming to bounce back quickly when they face Colorado in their next outing.
