After weeks on the sidelines, Ghanaian midfielder Amankwah Forson roared back into Norwich City’s starting lineup with a performance that felt like a personal statement. The 22-year-old didn’t just slot into midfield, he lit up Carrow Road with a sensational curling finish as the Canaries secured a deserved win over Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

Norwich set the tone early. Emiliano Marcondes pounced inside the opening ten minutes to hand the home side the lead, only for QPR to respond almost instantly through Rumarn Burrell, who capitalized on a rare defensive lapse. But the Canaries regained command midway through the half when Amadou Salif Mbengue, under heavy pressure, mistakenly diverted the ball into his own net.

From there, Norwich began to dictate the tempo, and Forson took centre stage. Moments before halftime, the Ghanaian timed his run perfectly, received a neat lay-off from American forward Joshua Sargent, and bent a superb effort beyond the helpless goalkeeper, a strike that drew gasps, then thunderous applause, from the Carrow Road crowd.

Beyond the goal, Forson’s dynamism, sharp turns, and intelligent passing gave Norwich a rhythm they had been missing. His box-to-box energy and smart positioning repeatedly cut through QPR’s resistance. When he made way in the 66th minute for youngster Errol Mundle-Smith, the home fans rose to their feet in appreciation of a comeback masterfully executed.

Ghanaian winger Kwame Poku, on the QPR bench, watched the entire contest without featuring.

For Norwich, Forson’s return felt like gaining a new signing. For Ghana, his assured display serves as a timely boost ahead of future international commitments. The message was clear: Forson is back, and he’s brought his flair with him.
