Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has challenged his Leicester City teammates to regroup and respond positively after their dramatic 3-2 defeat to Sheffield United in the English Championship on Saturday.

Issahaku, who completed the full 90 minutes at the King Power Stadium, admitted the result was a setback but insisted the team must draw valuable lessons from the performance.

“This is the time to stick together as a team and learn from our mistakes and comeback stronger on Saturday. Thanks to the foxes. The second half support was amazing,” he wrote on Instagram.

Leicester endured a nightmare start, conceding inside two minutes when Thomas Cannon pounced to put Sheffield United ahead. The visitors doubled their lead almost immediately through Jairo Riedewald in a blistering opening spell that stunned the home crowd.

Sydie Peck added a third before half-time, capitalizing on Leicester’s defensive frailty to give the Blades a comfortable cushion heading into the break.

Despite the early collapse, Issahaku remained one of Leicester’s standout performers. The Ghanaian produced a moment of brilliance shortly after the restart, threading a precise ball to Stephy Mavididi, who converted in the 53rd minute to spark hopes of a comeback.

Jordan James further narrowed the deficit with a 83rd-minute strike, but the Foxes ran out of time as Sheffield United held on to seal victory in a fiercely contested encounter.

At just 21, Issahaku continues to shine in his debut Championship campaign, now tallying three goals and five assists in 18 matches for the Foxes.

Fellow Ghana international Jordan Ayew, who captains the Black Stars, came off the bench but could not prevent Leicester from suffering their latest setback on home soil.

Issahaku’s message, however, was clear: the focus must shift quickly to the next challenge, with the winger confident that Leicester can turn the corner if they remain united.
