Leicester City looked to be cruising on Tuesday night until the game spun wildly out of control, turning a commanding lead into a sobering defeat, despite another standout contribution from Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.
The Ghana winger continued his fine Championship campaign by grabbing his eighth league goal of the season, lighting up the King Power Stadium with a moment of individual brilliance just before the half-hour mark.
Collecting a neat pass on the edge of the area, Fatawu killed the ball with confidence, drifted inside his marker and rifled a fierce finish beyond Southampton goalkeeper Peretz to stretch Leicester’s advantage.
By then, the Foxes were in full flow. Goals from Divine Mukasa and Patson Daka had already put the hosts in firm control, and Fatawu’s strike made it 3-0, seemingly sealing a comfortable evening for Enzo Maresca’s men.
But football has a way of punishing complacency. After dominating large spells of the contest, Leicester’s grip on the match loosened dramatically. Southampton sensed vulnerability, found momentum, and launched a remarkable comeback. The visitors clawed their way back to 3-3 before delivering the final blow, snatching a dramatic 4-3 victory and silencing the home crowd.
Fatawu’s night ended late on, with the winger withdrawn in the 85th minute for Silko Thomas as Leicester tried to steady themselves amid the Saints’ surge, an effort that ultimately proved futile.

Individually, however, the 20-year-old continues to shine in a season that has marked a sharp turnaround in fortunes. The goal took his tally to eight strikes and seven assists across 32 appearances in all competitions, underlining his growing influence in Leicester’s attack.
It stands in stark contrast to last term, when injury disruptions limited him to just 13 outings, yielding no goals and only two assists.
