Norwegian lower-tier side Elverum Fotball have secured a major boost to their squad with the signing of seasoned Ghanaian midfielder Enoch Kofi Adu, as preparations intensify for the upcoming campaign.

The 3. Division outfit confirmed the arrival of the 35-year-old midfield enforcer, with head coach Stian Aasen expressing delight after what he described as a long and demanding negotiation process. Adu joins the club on an undisclosed contract, bringing with him a wealth of top-level European experience.

Adu’s move comes shortly after his brief stint with Danish side Værløse BK, where he served in a dual player-coach role earlier in 2026. His transition to Elverum signals another chapter in a career that has spanned multiple leagues and countries, as he edges toward the twilight of his playing days.

Speaking to Norwegian outlet Østlendingen, Aasen did not hide his satisfaction at finally completing the deal after persistent efforts from the club behind the scenes:

“We’ve been working insanely hard on this for a long time. I’m very pleased that we finally managed to land the deal.”

Adu’s résumé underscores the significance of the signing. Over the years, he has featured for notable European clubs including Malmö FF, AIK, Stabæk Fotball, Club Brugge, and FC Nordsjælland, among others. His journey has also taken him through Finland and France, reinforcing his reputation as a well-travelled and tactically astute midfielder.

For Elverum, the acquisition is more than just a headline signing, it represents an injection of leadership, composure, and invaluable experience into a squad aiming to compete strongly in Norway’s fourth tier. Adu’s presence is expected to influence both performances on the pitch and the development of younger players within the team.

As the new season approaches, all eyes will be on how the veteran adapts to his new environment and what impact he can make in steering Elverum forward.
