Hearts of Oak boss Didi Dramani has called on his squad to stay faithful to the club’s long-term vision after edging Eleven Wonders 1-0 in a tense Ghana Premier League encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday night.
The game was decided early when Enock Asubonteng finished clinically in the 17th minute, giving the Phobians just enough cushion to collect their second straight victory. The result propels Hearts to third on the table with seven points from three outings, only two adrift of surprise leaders Heart of Lions.
Despite enjoying long spells of possession and dictating the tempo, the Accra giants lacked a ruthless edge in front of goal. They managed only three efforts on target, leaving the contest delicately balanced until the final whistle. Wonders, still searching for their first win of the campaign, staged a spirited late surge but couldn’t break through, and now languish in 16th place with a solitary point.

After the final whistle, Dramani’s message was one of perseverance and belief:
“We need to believe in what we are doing, and that’s the consistency we try to invite in our players, that we try to be strong also, that we can play games, tight games, where we can score one and then that would be it, and then we can protect it. Sometimes it’s difficult.”
Hearts of Oak will look to build on their momentum when they travel to Bechem United in matchweek four, while Eleven Wonders turn their attention to a home clash with Young Apostles as they chase a much-needed first victory.
