Ghanaian right-back Christopher Acheampong has completed a temporary move to Bulgarian First League side PFC Montana as he seeks more consistent playing opportunities this season.

The 25-year-old defender joins Montana on loan from CSKA 1948, with the deal running until the end of the 2025/26 campaign. Acheampong, who has struggled with injuries in recent months, has found it difficult to cement a regular starting spot at CSKA and will now look to reignite his form at his new club.

Confirming the transfer, CSKA released an official statement: “CSKA transfers Christopher Acheampong to Montana until the end of the 2025/26 season. The 25-year-old right-back will have the opportunity to accumulate important playing minutes and continue his development with constant practice. We wish Chipi health, a strong season and successful performance!”

Despite his challenges, Acheampong has already featured five times in the current Bulgarian league season and remains determined to build on that momentum with Montana. Known for his blistering speed and attacking thrust down the flanks, the defender has developed a reputation as a dynamic modern full-back.

Acheampong originally moved to Bulgaria in 2022, signing for CSKA Sofia from Accra Lions. Since then, he has racked up 65 appearances across the Efbet League and Vtora Liga, gaining valuable experience in top-level European football.
